A Celebration of Tradition, Sustainability, and Island Flavors
The Slow Food Festival Korčula is a unique event dedicated to promoting local food production, preserving culinary tradition, and laying the foundation for the island’s sustainable development. At the heart of the festival is the idea that food systems should be local, fair, and environmentally sustainable, while the values promoted by the festival serve as a model for resource management and the development of regenerative tourism – tourism that does not deplete, but restores.
The island of Korčula, especially the Town of Korčula, has already been recognized as an important eno-gastronomic destination, where authentic cuisine and local agriculture blend with world-class gastronomy. Thanks to the strong development of island wineries producing high-quality, distinctive wines, as well as restaurants proudly bearing Michelin stars and recommendations, Korčula has successfully positioned itself on the global gastronomic map. In addition, products such as the traditional Lumblija (PGI) and Korčula Olive Oil (PDO), both protected at the European Union level, confirm the high level of quality and authenticity of the island’s offerings.
